Hugues Rey

Born in Ixelles (Belgium) in July 1968, Hugues Rey is graduated from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB) (Business Engineering) – (1992).

He currently holds the position of CEO at Havas Belgium & CEO of Havas Media Belux. Previously, he held positions of Managing Director of FastBridge (2000 – 2006), Digital Director Europe Middle-East Africa at Initiative (IPG) (2006 – 2008) and Chief Strategy and Digital Officer at Mediabrands Belgium (2008 – 2010). In 1992, He started his career at WPP’s Mindshare as Research Executive and developed the first Internet Advertising Campaign in 1996.

He is a Marketing and Communication Teacher at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (in Brussels and Saigon). Hugues is since 2021, Chairman of the board the UMA Belgium (United Media Agencies).

In the past, he was President of the CIM (Belgian JIC – Centre d’Information sur les Media) Television, Internet and Pluri-Media Studies Committee. He is one of the founding fathers of the Interactive Advertising Bureau Belgium (IAB).

Hugues is giving frequent lectures and conferences in Belgium and abroad about Industry Future, Digitalisation and Media Evolution, Sustainability and Meaningful Brands. 2005 – 2023 list:
